When water flash floods from a snow melt or a high rainfall storm it flows down low spots washing out soil. Once the ditch is made it only gets deeper each year. With a grader you can pull the sides in and create a passage way for equipment to drive across. Best way to prevent this type of erosion is to have crop planted in those drainage's so the root structures will hold soil in tact.
